This is a full-day course which include the basic theory for the development of medieval writing with an emphasis on charters writing and an introduction to the composition of these documents from Czech lands. The main part of the course will be devoted to practical writing.
You will learn how to spell your hand, how to progress from the first letter to a full sentence. You will be able to choose between an alphabet focused on the 14th century (diplomatic cursive) or the 15th century (bastard). At the same time, you will get the necessary information to prepare scribal utensils (cutting a quill, boiling ink, etc.).
Date: Saturday January 18th from 10:00 to 16:00, Olomoucká Citadela (Panská 8, Olomouc).
The course includes materials (alphabet, making instructions, writing utensils) and small snack. ☕
